I love designing quilt patterns. It is one of my most favorite things to do. But with how busy I am, I'm not able to write patterns for my designs as much as I would like. So, this year, I decided on a cute pumpkin block. I love it. I really do think it's cute.
The cute pumpkins block started last year and is part of another quilt design I am working on. I chose pumpkins because I love decorating with them. The pumpkins can rain amongst my Halloween and Thanksgiving decor, and that feels like a win, win, win!

Once I have my idea and pattern written, the fun begins with the fabric pull. I play around with colors while designing, and I love that. But bringing it to life with actual fabric is the best part. For my pumpkins, I went with a modern fall color palette using a mix of Moda and Art Gallary Solids. I used Tilda Fabrics for my binding and backing after falling in love with them at Quilt Market and Festival.
To stay organized, I use my Wonder Clips. Following the pattern, I write the letter for the fabric color and the number for the cut size.
In this Reel, Stay Organized with Wonder Clips, I show my steps.
As a quilter, I have labeled myself as a seams-open type of gal. If you choose to press your seams open, too, make sure to lower your stitch length to 1.8 to reinforce the seam.
I did some fun quilting on my longarm. At first, I did not like it, but once it was done, I fell in love.
I ran into a fun problem when I could not decide which Tilda Fabric print to use for my binding and backing.
And after running an Instagram poll and realizing I couldn't go wrong with any choice I made, as the votes were very close, I decided on the tiny floral print for the binding and stripes for my backing. I look forward to using the other floral print soon.

I enjoyed designing and making this Cute Pumpkins Quilt Block. I am excited about making more next year and possibly turning it into a table runner.
